Queensbury Community Scholarship Association

The mission of this scholarship program is to award financial assistance to individuals that are Queensbury graduates or that live in Warren County and are pursuing a program in a skilled trade or vocation.

Vocational / Trade Education Scholarship

This scholarship is intended to help individuals looking to continue their education in a skilled trade or vocation.

The money for these scholarships was given to QCSA by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) relief fund.

 

Financial Award:

This scholarship award will pay up to $5,000. (Larger awards may be granted at the discretion of the committee.) 

  • Award recipients can reapply for additional funds upon proof of completion of initial program or coursework.
  • An application can be made for additional funds to cover the cost of program materials, tests, or other related expenses.
  • An Application for funds can be submitted to the committee at any time of the year.  Please allow a minimum of 45 days for your application to be reviewed.

 

Criteria to apply

 

  • The scholarship application for funds is available to individuals until the end of the calendar year of their 21st birthday.  Applicants must reside in Warren County.  Queensbury graduates will be given preference for awards.  Proof of residency in Warren County is required.  Acceptable forms of proof include a valid NY State ID or driver’s license, a recent bank statement or current bill with address.
  • Proof of enrollment in an approved program (ie: tuition statement) must be submitted after the application is approved.  All awards will be paid directly to the school or training institution.  Applicants cannot be reimbursed for money they have previously paid for training/coursework.
  • Scholarship money must be used for employment training.  Such trainings can be in person or online and include, but are not limited to:

  • Heavy Equipment Operation
  • HVAC
  • Machinery
  • Welding
  • Cosmetology
  • Culinary
  • CDL 
  • Security Guard
  • Construction
  • Medical Transcription
  • Plumbing
  • Lineman
  • Dental Hygienist
  • Aircraft Mechanic
  • Radiation Therapist
  • Electrical 
  • Masonry
  • Diesel Technology
  • Farm & Agriculture Sciences
  • Fire Science & Technology
